Privacy policy

How WeOne collects, uses and protects citizen data.

Last updated 19 August 2026

1. Information we collect

WeOne collects the identity details you provide during registration (name, mobile number, email address), the geography you select (district, local body and ward), the content you publish, and technical information such as device type and IP address needed to keep your account secure.

2. How we use your information

Your information is used to operate the platform: to authenticate you, to show content relevant to your ward and local body, to route grievances to the correct department, and to send the notifications you have opted into.

3. Data residency

All WeOne data is stored on government-controlled infrastructure within India. Data is not sold, rented or shared with advertisers.

4. Sharing with departments

When you raise a grievance or contact a department, the details you submit are shared with the officers responsible for that jurisdiction so they can act on it. Your other profile data is not shared.

5. Your rights

You may view, correct or export your profile data at any time from Settings. You may deactivate your account, after which your profile is hidden from other citizens and your data is retained only as long as records rules require.

6. Security

Access is protected by one-time passwords, optional two-factor authentication, device tracking and a full audit trail of administrative actions.

7. Contact
