Street light on our lane has been out for three weeks — who do I report it to?

It is a shared lane with about twelve houses. I told the ward member on the phone but nothing has happened. Is there a written route?

File it in writing at the panchayat office and insist on a dated acknowledgement — that starts the clock. In most local bodies street lighting complaints go to the Assistant Engineer. You can also raise it in the next Gram Sabha, which puts it in the minutes.
