Can I pay property tax online if the assessment is in my late father's name?

The property is in my father's name and he passed away last year. Mutation is not complete. Can I still pay the tax so it does not fall into arrears?

Yes. Paying tax does not require mutation and paying it does not by itself establish ownership. Pay it to avoid the arrears, and pursue the mutation separately with the death certificate, the legal heirship certificate and the tax receipt.

I did exactly this. The receipt still shows the old name until mutation goes through, which is fine.
